Catch that garter!

Going through photos from a recent wedding revealed this cool photo of the guys diving for the elusive garter. Who knows where this custom originated, but it still makes for a hard-to-grab photo.
This one made me laugh, though.

Jesska - Senior with an edge

Everybody, meet Jesska! That's how she likes to spell it anyway. She was one of the many senior portraits I've done in the last few weeks.

She stands out as one of the most creative, fun shoots in quite a while. She had tons of expression and personality, and a lot of different looks to bring to the table. Definitely one of my favorites. Here's a small sample...take a look and see if you agree. (Shhh...her mom hasn't even seen them yet!)

First off, she has an extensive collection of Converse All-Stars!

This was Hartsburg, MO...famous for their Pumpkin Festival.
Finally, a bit of Photoshop fun from one of our studio shots!

New gear - MMMmm!!

How I love new gear! It always feels good to get a new toy! Below is my brand-spankin'-new-just-out-of-the-box Vagabond II from Paul C. Buff. The Vagabond is a portable power supply that I can take virtually anywhere and plug my Alien Bee strobes into it and fire away, without having to rely on a power outlet.

Mr. Buff manufactures lighting equipment for the photography industry including Alien Bees and the White Lightning lines, and I own several pieces of his gear, and they are number one in my book. I bought this online Wednesday, and it arrived today (Friday) - fastest shipping ever! Their customer service is legendary as well...when you call, you actually get to talk to a real person right here in the United States!

My hat's off to Mr. Buff, and many thanks to him and his staff for a great product line!

Saturday was Christy & Jason's wedding in Montgomery City, in a beautiful little country church on a dirt road!

As soon as I met them, I felt like I'd known them forever. The wedding was a lot of fun, with lots of laughter, tears, and love.

Christy's portrait is below, taken in the natural light of the church window. What a beautiful bride!

Thirty lashes for not updating this thing!! I know, but it seems as though I'm ALWAYS sitting in front of this beast of a computer!

The next two months are jam-packed with senior portraits, weddings, band gigs, model shoots, everything and anything!

Promise to do better...?

I know, it's been a while...anybody out there?

Im ashamed of myself for taking this long to update my blog! I promise I'll be better...not that anyone is actually READING it, but...ya never know!

Today I'm going to meet a good friend I haven't seen since eighth grade (and that's a LONG time! ;) and later, to a housewarming for a co-worker, and tonight - playing music at "The Bar" in Apache Flats with my band, King Biscuit!

Anyhow, I have a ton of posts ready for the next few days, many things to show you.

Up first are some modeling photos of my good friend Andromeda Chace. She has some killer eyes, and skin like fine china - she's a great model and a real fun shoot:
